Stephen Kazim joins Mazzetti as a Senior Electrical Engineer, boosting the firm’s Southern California presence with a shared commitment to improving the built environment and the communities it serves.
A California-registered Professional Engineer and certified Healthcare Facility Design Professional (HFDP), Stephen brings more than a decade of experience delivering HVAC and central plant solutions for complex healthcare campuses, including operating rooms, inpatient towers, clean rooms, and mission-critical infrastructure, helping create environments where care teams can focus on patients.
Stephen was drawn to Mazzetti by the consistency of its purpose across every interaction.
“What really resonated with me was how consistently people talked about purpose,” Stephen said. “From the engineers I spoke with to what I saw on the website, there was a shared focus on making the communities we serve better and doing work that benefits everyone involved,” shared Stephen.
That alignment with Mazzetti’s mission/public benefit played a key role in his decision to join the firm. The opportunity to combine technical expertise with meaningful impact is something he is eager to advance in his new role.
“It goes beyond just another job or another project,” he said. “We are designing spaces where people go to heal, where clinicians need healthy environments to do their best work. Keeping that perspective front and center has always been important to me.”
Based in Southern California, Stephen will support healthcare projects that prioritize both sustainability and human health. His approach centers on delivering practical solutions that improve building performance while aligning with client goals.
“I’m looking forward to helping clients see that improving health and sustainability does not have to be overwhelming or cost prohibitive,” he said. “There are small, thoughtful decisions we can make that have a real impact. And for clients who are ready to go further, we can push those ideas to the next level.”
Stephen brings experience across a range of healthcare environments, where collaboration with clinical teams and responsiveness to real-world challenges have shaped his work. With a focus on creating healthier, more resilient environments, Stephen brings both technical insight and a clear sense of purpose to Mazzetti. His work reflects a belief that thoughtful engineering decisions can elevate care environments and deliver lasting benefits for both people and communities.
Mazzetti looks forward to the impact he will make across Southern California and beyond.
