HOW DID YOU GET INTO YOUR SPECIFIC LINE OF WORK?
I was an electrical and general contractor and was asked if I installed data cabling. After some research, I decided to start a new division in my company; I soon discovered BICSI and began to get involved in the industry. The rest is history!
WHAT EXCITES YOU MOST ABOUT YOUR LINE OF WORK?
The ever-changing technology and new challenges presented with each new project.
HOW DID YOU DISCOVER MAZZETTI?
I had previously heard of Mazzetti, while in the industry. I was especially intrigued to learn more about Mazzetti as a leader in technology, investing in internal resources (including an in-house software development studio) to continue leading the industry. With the recent unveiling of M+Partner, our custom web-based application providing clients 24/7 access to project information, I knew I wanted to be a part of this organization and continue to do great things! Plus, I was attracted to the employee ownership in the firm — everyone is a true stakeholder and contributor.
WHAT ARE YOU MOST EXCITED ABOUT, WORKING FOR MAZZETTI?
Expanding my horizons — Healthcare is an exciting market, in which, I’ve had minimal involvement in the past few years. I’m excited about the new opportunities for me in this vital market.
MOST CHALLENGING & REWARDING PROJECT?
The White House — this project was not only very prestigious for me but also a great challenge, converting a useable swimming pool into a small data center. The absolute critical nature of the infrastructure was quite a challenge as we moved the Press Briefing Room to a temp space and then back again.
INTERESTING CLIENT OR PROJECT STORY?
Walking into a construction meeting to hear that the President of the United States was upset that he had to temporarily broadcast from a different location than he had preferred (due to an error made by the contractor), then being able to have my son work with me in the White House to correct the issue. This is one of my favorite father/son stories and a memory we will always cherish.
LIFE OUTSIDE OF WORK – FAMILY, HOBBIES, ETC.?
Spending time with my new grandson! I’m looking forward to watching him grow up, helping him shape his future in some small way. I also enjoy riding my Harley to explore new places in this great country of ours.
