1/27/16

Kimberlie is a dealmaker and intellectual property strategist by background. She has been a top executive at nine venture capital-backed companies; two of which she saw from the initial startup phase through public offerings.

She practiced law at top Silicon Valley law firms Gunderson Dettmer and Venture Law Group, where she worked closely with the founding executive teams of several successful high technology and life sciences companies, including Yahoo!, Ariba and Target Therapeutics. Kimberlie has negotiated and executed hundreds of strategic deals that took early stage companies to the next level, and she has significant M&A experience.

Kimberlie graduated from the University of Illinois with a B.S. in biochemistry. She earned a Master of Science degree in biochemical pharmacology from New York University. She has an M.B.A. from University of San Francisco. She graduated from the Hastings College of the Law, and is licensed to practice law in California and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Kimberlie serves on several business advisory boards, and is a director or trustee for profit and nonprofit organizations. She has authored several articles and book chapters on business strategies that maximize the strategic value of intellectual property, and is frequently invited to speak around the world at business and venture capital conferences. She served as a subject matter expert for the U.S. Departments of Commerce and State for over ten years.

Currently, Kimberlie is the founder and CEO of Tiatros Inc., a San Francisco-based digital health company, that connects the people, information, clinical workflows, and analytic capabilities needed for efficient chronic disease care in one easy-to-use, secure cloud-based platform. According to Kimberlie, doctors use Tiatros’ secure social networks to manage chronic disease care collaboratively, allowing them to remain the key drivers of healthcare while putting each patient at the center of his own care. Tiatros also enables providers to recreate the basis of the doctor-patient relationship, narrative storytelling, and integrates natural language analytics that capture timely and relevant clinical insights.

“I’m regularly asked to serve on boards, and naturally, can’t agree to join all of them. In my first interview with Walt Vernon I saw that he has an exciting vision that I want to be a part of. Mazzetti and Tiatros are both trying to make a meaningful impact on our healthcare system, moving it forward towards better, safer, patient-centric care leveraging 21st century methods and technologies. Mazzetti addresses the physical. Tiatros addresses the digital.”  – Kimberlie

Kimberlie lives in San Francisco with her husband of 40 years.
