We’ve heard healthcare system personnel, in various positions, struggle with time-intensive, non-intuitive, sometimes expensive solutions for managing healthcare facility energy data.
At UW Health I received energy and water data from various sources at different times, and manually entered it into Energy Star Portfolio Manager for each of our sites. I explored various tools to make sense of it all; the free ones were clunky, and others were expensive or had proprietary issues.
– Shannon Bunsen, Mazzetti Sustainability Project Manager (former Sustainability Lead for UW Health)
We’re simplifying data management. Period. Our in-house Software Development Studio is creating a free tool, M+Energy (for web and mobile), to help visualize and compare healthcare facility data with greater ease and efficiency.
WHY IS AN MEP/TECHNOLOGY FIRM BUILDING APPS?
As a Benefit Corporation, we are committed and accountable to providing societal and environmental benefit. This includes accountability to monitoring the performance of the buildings we design. We intend to help ALL healthcare facilities better manage energy data and improve performance.
TELL ME MORE ABOUT M+ENERGY
The dashboard gives you a high level view of system-wide performance with graphs showing 12-month rolling EUI, electricity, natural gas, and water. You can quickly see which sites are your best and worst performers, helping you prioritize efforts and dig into “alarming” issues. The app allows you to see site specific data and run comparisons (building to building, time period to time period). Future versions (which will remain free) include more on awards, competitions, and goals.
