I am passionate about innovative building design and the promise of improving lives through engineering. My decision to pursue a career in mechanical engineering was heavily influenced by my upbringing in a family immersed in the residential construction industry. This background, combined with my aptitude for math and science, steered me away from architecture and into the engineering realm, where I’ve found my true calling. I enjoy the diversity of projects and the constant challenge each unique building presents.
I have a natural curiosity and meticulous attention to detail. These traits ensure that the systems I design not only meet but exceed expectations in scope and function. One of my most memorable projects r was leading the mechanical design for a small outpatient children’s clinic in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Despite the limitations of the existing systems and space constraints, I managed to design a dedicated ventilation unit with energy recovery that enhanced the facility’s ability to provide critical care to sick children. This project holds a special place in my heart, not just for its technical challenges but also for the impact it has on young lives.
Innovation is at the core of what I do. I continually seek out new technologies and methods that can streamline the design process and improve project delivery. While the industry may sometimes lag in adopting rapid changes, I’m optimistic about the untapped potential that advances in software and tools offer to our profession. Every day, I’m excited to explore new horizons, tackle fresh challenges, and contribute to creating spaces that enhance human experiences. Whether through meticulous HVAC systems design or leveraging cutting-edge technologies, my goal remains the same: to make a positive impact on the built environment and, ultimately, on people’s lives.
