Hyperscale Lab and Data Center
Mazzetti provided engineering design services for a new multipurpose hyperscale facility combining advanced development laboratories, high-density data halls, and technology demonstration environments under a single campus. The project consolidates hundreds of previously distributed development labs into a centralized, purpose-built facility while supporting the significant power and cooling demands of next-generation computing technologies.
The facility features high-density data halls utilizing in-rack liquid cooling, alongside a dedicated demonstration area showcasing multiple immersion cooling technologies. To support diverse operational requirements, the design includes three distinct cooling systems, each optimized for its respective cooling technology to maximize efficiency, performance, and reliability.
Development laboratory spaces were designed to leverage outside-air economization, providing free cooling for much of the year and significantly reducing energy consumption. The facility is supported by a robust 60 MW electrical service, enabling large-scale computing, testing, and future growth while maintaining the resilience required for mission-critical operations.
By integrating innovative cooling strategies, energy-efficient systems, and flexible infrastructure, the facility creates a scalable platform for technology development, high-performance computing, and the evaluation of emerging data center technologies.
