With a continual expansion of student enrollment and degree programs, Washington University opened Knight and Bauer Halls to house the Olin School of Business. The two new 5-story buildings are connected by a glass atrium and total 175,000 sf. The new facility more than doubles the physical space for the business school and includes seven classrooms, a 300-seat auditorium, faculty offices, and a glass atrium featuring a 100-seat open café. Mazzetti provided MEPF engineering, lighting controls, and information technology design for the LEED Gold facility. Innovative designs were utilized throughout the buildings including radiant heating and cooling through floor slabs, displacement ventilation and passive smoke control.
