I have more than 37 years in the consulting engineering and construction fields. My technical expertise covers a broad range of HVAC, process, controls, piping, and plumbing engineering for healthcare, bio-pharmaceutical, electronics, commercial, and education facilities. I have extensive experience working with state design authorities, specifically the California Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development and the Division of the State Architect.
As a principal at Mazzetti, I spend my time planning and delivering on highly complex engineering projects that often involve complicated yet innovative design systems. I enjoy collaborating with a team to drive high-quality designs and work to achieve the best possible end results for the building owner and client. I am an engineer, first and foremost; I take pride in my work and believe it shows.
I think the most important advancements for mankind would be to come up with inexpensive, non-polluting sources of energy, clean water, and waste disposal. I have a feeling that all three advancements are related.
My noteworthy project work includes: basis of design for all MEP systems, utility demand estimates, preliminary system sizing for the California Prison Receivership Project; construction administration for HVAC and piping/plumbing systems for 3-story, 3-building laboratory complex for Stanford University; and participated and prepared energy studies for eight Northern California Kaiser Permanente hospital campuses which considered approximately 30 possible energy savings features for each campus, performed payback analyses for each feature and created a shortlist of approximately eight recommendations, with estimated costs, for each campus.
