I specialize in mechanical systems design and project management for healthcare facilities, predominantly with extensive infrastructure replacement and upgrades. I have 36 years in the consulting design industry. My work at Mazzetti is focused on design and problem solving as it relates to mechanical systems in buildings and systems of all types. Specifically, I deliver system design and integration, major equipment room layout, and facility system renovation and updating, as well as mentoring younger engineers. My clients benefit from my commitment to getting ideas on the table early, being creative in difficult projects, and solving problems.
Innovations I have contributed to the industry include having designed a 2,000,000 CFM welding fume system with filtration that allowed recirculation of 80% of the total flow. Honda has used this in all their plants since. For the GM Saturn plant that was in Spring Hill, Tennessee, I designed a production version of a system to accelerate the removal of Pentane gas from Styrofoam beads used in the engine block and head casting process to improve dimensional accuracy. And over a decade, while the facility was occupied, I have replaced 26 air handling units at Valley Medical Center – some in conjunction with remodels, some as simply infrastructure upgrades.
