Mazzetti Nash Lipsey Burch Principal Designated ASHE Fellow

Hugh Nash, a partner with engineering and consulting firm Mazzetti Nash Lipsey Burch (M+NLB), has been named a “Fellow in ASHE” (FASHE) by the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE). The designation was made Monday, August 3rd, at the opening session of the 46th annual ASHE conference in Anaheim, California.

The American Society of Healthcare Engineering is one of the personal membership groups of the American Hospital Association (AHA). ASHE represents a diverse network of over 9,200 members dedicated to optimizing the healthcare physical environment. Only 100 Fellows in ASHE have been awarded in ASHE’s 50-year history.

The FASHE designation is awarded to ASHE members who are “dedicated to advancing the field of healthcare engineering and facilities management.” Nash has 42 years of experience in healthcare engineering and has extensive project management and electrical design experience for commercial, industrial and institutional buildings.

Nash is a Fellow with the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers; has been chairman of the IEEE White Book; a member of the AIA Committee for the Revision of Guidelines for Construction and Equipment of Hospitals and Medical Facilities; and serves on the Board of Directors for the Facilities Guidelines Institute. He is the author of over 50 articles and papers on a number of topics, including hospital electrical design, emergency and standby power systems and quality management.

During his career, Nash has designed systems for numerous healthcare facilities in 35 states, including Our Lady of the Lake in Baton Rouge, LA; Veterans Administration Hospital in Nashville and Alvin C. York VA Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN; and Wright Patterson Air Force Medical Center in Dayton, OH.
