Mazzetti Nash Lipsey Burch (M+NLB) is providing MEP design, energy modeling, and tax credit and incentive work for this new five-story, 126-bed, 283,000sf hospital, 110,000sf medical office building, central utility plant, and parking structure. In the schematic design phase, M+NLB participated in and helped lead two eco-charettes and provided energy modeling and analyses of potential Energy Conservation Measures, including heat recovery, cogeneration, and geothermal heat pumps. Savings will be used to bolster Energy Trust of Oregon and Business Energy Tax Credit applications. A rainwater-harvesting analysis examined the rainwater collection potential and the water uses to best take advantage of this collection potential. The project is currently in design, with some portions under construction.
For this project, the contractors are generating the 3-D BIM model based on our Design Development documents. As a fast-track project, some portions of the project have begun construction while detailed design is still underway. To manage this process, M+NLB took the initiative to establish a frequent site presence (near daily during critical phases) to develop a close relationship with the contractors and subcontractors, and resolve questions as they arise. We participate in weekly coordination meetings, both with the owner/architect/designer team and the contractors to ensure a timely flow of information between the site and design office.
