The addition of 192,000 SF of new construction and 42,000sf of renovation added significant capacity to this Level 1 trauma center and teaching hospital. The four-story Critical Care Tower added three floors of intensive care units with 78 licensed beds, a 30 bed PACU, 13 bed pre-op unit, blood lab, and a medical library, and first floor imaging and treatment areas including a vascular lab, 6 nuclear medicine rooms, 2 CT’s, 12 ED Observation rooms, a chemotherapy suite, hyperbaric unit, wound care clinic, and a resident’s clinic.

The tower is designed for two additional floors of vertical expansion. At the opposite end of the campus the Women’s Hospital was expanded to add 24 LDR rooms, six antepartum beds, a C-Section OR, and an education and conference center. This addition was also designed for future vertical expansion. Mazzetti Nash Lipsey Burch designed the structured cabling system, and provided coordination with all necessary disciplines for pathway layouts, support hardware, firestopping, and integration of applicable medical equipment infrastructure.
