Hospital Corporation of America’s Starplex Facility is a renovated, two-story 84,000sf, IT customer service and help desk center. Mazzetti Nash Lipsey Burch (M+NLB) was responsible for the new voice/data systems, including a new communications room and a data center linked with high-pair-count voice feeder and fiber optic cables. The coordination for the PBX rectifiers and UPS systems and HVAC systems were part of the design process. M+NLB also coordinated the audiovisual and security systems, including a close-circuit television system and access control. As part of the renovation, M+NLB identified the existing service entrance facilities and worked with the service providers to determine alternate entrance points for redundant service feeds.
