Mazzetti Nash Lipsey Burch (M+NLB) began work at the 120,000sf Northern California Data Center in 1991. The first project was the addition of generator #5. The most significant project was a $5M central plant expansion, seismic upgrade and 56,000sf raised floor renovation. The project achieved 2N redundancy, 7x24 operation and 100% uptime for the data center. All work was completed in a live facility without a shutdown. M+NLB provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing engineering and commissioning services for various projects totaling $22M. Projects at the data center site include the following:
•Site Capacity Master Plan & Single Point Failure Analysis
• UPS #4 System Expansion
• Computer Room Additions #7: $1.5M; #8: $400K; #9: $1.2M
• Console Room/Network Operations Room Addition & Remodel
• CPU, DASD & Storage Upgrades
• Miscellaneous Hardware & Network Equipment Upgrades
• Personnel Re-Stack as well as UPS & Cooling Upgrades in Central Plant
• 25 North Via Monte & Fire Alarm Review & Commissioning
