The Residential College 1 project included multiple buildings and site and landscape lighting. The site is located on an older part of the campus, which required relocation of the utilities, including the existing underground primary feeders serving the west side of the campus, as well as existing underground voice and data infrastructure wiring.
Electrical design included connection to the University primary-voltage, underground power distribution system and a standby power generator. In addition, underground ductwork and wiring were provided to allow connection to the new medium-voltage distribution system served from the campus cogeneration plant. The project included residential and classroom design, and office and exterior lighting. The building is fully secured, with controlled access and CCTV surveillance. The design includes full voice and data infrastructure wiring with connections to the campus network, including wireless connections.
