This $550M project consists of a new eight-story, 360,000sf Women and Children’s Hospital, which bridges over public streets to the existing Sutter General Hospital, new 210,000sf Sutter Medical Foundation Medical Office Building and energy center, renovations and expansions to the existing five-story Sutter General Hospital, basement totaling 240,000sf, renovation of 50,000sf within the 100,000sf Buhler Building, and renovation of the underground radiation oncology center. Mazzetti Nash Lipsey Burch (M+NLB) is the lead consultant for the entire system replacement and is responsible for the electrical engineering and commissioning for the electrical systems, in addition to facilitating the overall technology integration for the project. For the low-voltage scope of work, M+NLB assisted Sutter by facilitating the overall technology integration master planning for the project.
The firm has also been retained to assist the owner’s project management team to develop an approach to budgeting, designing, selecting, and procuring the technology systems for the facility. As a part of the scope of work M+NLB is responsible for facilitating solutions for budgetary challenges, researching California Office of Statewide Planning and Development permitting expectations, and balancing the competing interests of the various stakeholders to bring the low-voltage system project delivery to a successful conclusion. Specific low-voltage systems include nurse call, code blue, overhead paging, room status and emergency call, as well as the non-health care-specific communications systems for fire alarm, voice, data, and video.
