Mazzetti Nash Lipsey Burch provided full MEP design services for this three-story, 72,000sf office building. This LEED Gold certified building features: water-efficient landscaping; low-flow fixtures resulting in 20% wateruse reduction; optimized energy performance through combined strategies, including effective envelope insulation; low-e windows; and a high-efficiency packaged variable air volume system with an airside economizer that reduces energy use by 15% over baseline.
To meet the remaining energy demand, the project incorporates renewable energy strategies, including a 2,400sf photovoltaic array generating 29,857 kWh for the building’s electrical requirements and a solar hotwater heating system to preheat domestic water. The building will offset a portion of its remaining electricity consumption through the purchase of windpower renewable energy credits for a minimum of two years after occupancy, amounting to an equivalent of over 25,000 kWh per month. Other features include: maximum credit for use of local and recycled materials; over 75% of construction waste was diverted from landfill; and access to daylighting and views for a majority of building occupants.
