The Portland office was born as CBG Engineers in 1977. A partnership of Carson, Bekooy, and our very own Bob Gulick, the firm’s beginnings were marked with complex large and dynamic projects managed by a firm still small enough for its principals to be deeply involved and provide personal attention. In addition to healthcare, the CBG portfolio includes university, laboratory, library, theater, museum, and even sport and convention center projects.
In 2005, CBG joined M+NLB and has established itself as the firm’s sustainable design powerhouse—almost all of the firm’s LEED Certified projects are a product of the Portland office’s design and management expertise. In addition, 63 percent of the staff is LEED Accredited. Serving the northwestern U.S., top Portland projects include Kaiser Westside Replacement Medical Center, numerous research laboratory projects at Oregon Health & Science University, and Clatsop Community and Lower Columbia Colleges.
